Itsy Bitsy About Her
We might call her Itsy Bitsy — but don’t let the nickname fool you. There is absolutely nothing small, quiet, or ordinary about Elizabeth. She’s a big personality in a little body, a burst of unstoppable energy, and a bottomless well of curiosity that turns even the simplest days into something worth telling stories about.
Life with Elizabeth means big questions, big feelings, and a whole lot of delightful chaos — even when we’re just trying to get out the door. As a neurospicy family, we’ve learned to embrace her buzzing mind and endless wonder, reminding her (and ourselves) that being different makes life far more interesting. Travel has been one of our greatest gifts: it brings us closer and gives Elizabeth the freedom to be her bold, bubbly, boundlessly curious self.
We like to say our life is travelful — because it makes us grateful, keeps every day meaningful, reminds us the world is beautiful, and leaves us feeling wonderfully connected. With Elizabeth by our side, there is truly nothing Itsy Bitsy about the life we’re building — and that’s exactly how we love it.
MEET THE FAMILY
Fat Mama
The planner, the packer, the snack-wrangling extraordinaire — Jodie is the reason any of these adventures ever make it out of the driveway. Fully embracing life as a plus-size traveler, Fat Mama proudly plays the instigator: mischief, memory-making, and maybe one too many side quests are her specialty. She’s the voice behind the blog, the master of backup plans, and the first to ask, “But did you die?” when the day goes sideways. If life is travelful, she’s the one making sure the family takes the scenic route — and brings home the souvenirs to prove it.
Big Papa
Every whirlwind needs an anchor, and Nathan is exactly that. No matter where we roam, it feels like home thanks to his up-for-anything attitude and steady support. Known in the family as Big Papa, he’s the calm counterweight to Jodie’s endless ideas and Elizabeth’s uncontainable energy. He’s the patient driver, the quiet voice of reason, and the comforting “We’ll figure it out” when things get weird. None of our big adventures would be possible without Big Papa — making sure we all get there (and back again) safe, fed, and ready for whatever comes next.
Snickers & Doodle
Snickers (right) and Doodle (left) are our aggressively friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel travel companions. This brother-and-sister duo are equal parts backseat explorers and shameless lap hogs. They love a good car ride, dragging Itsy Bitsy behind them on a leash, and stopping to sniff every fire hydrant in sight — but nothing makes them happier than curling up on a warm lap the second the wheels stop turning. They don’t tag along for every adventure, but Snickers and Doodle make plenty of mischief of their own around the house and neighborhood.
